Rs 43 Lakh Cash, Liquor, Drugs Seized In Poll-Bound Nagaland

Election to the 60-member Assembly will be held on February 27 and benefits will be out on March 3.

Kohima:  The authorities have seized more than Rs 43 lakh unaccounted money, 35,077 bottles of liquor, arms and ammunition and drugs in poll certain Nagaland, Main Electoral Officer Ahijit Sinha reported listed here nowadays.

In advance of the February 27 polls, staff of different departments also seized 26,579 beer cans for the duration of raids across the condition till yesterday, Mr Sinha reported.

The teams have confiscated seven smaller arms with 87 ammunition and banned drugs which includes 19,162 of capsules and tablets, 58 bottles of cough syrup, 220 kg of ganja, 5 gram heroine, 36 gram brown sugar and 5 rolls of opium, he reported.

Two motor vehicles have also been seized.
