Nath issued an order waiving off short-term loans of farmers. Farmers who had taken loans from nationalised and cooperative banks before March 31, 2018 will be eligible for the loan waiver, according to Principal Secretary (Agriculture) Rajesh Rajora.
Congress had promised farmers loan waiver within 10 days of forming the government as part of its Manifesto. After the Congress won 114 out of 230 seats in Madhya Pradesh with support of independent Parties and BSP. Congress President Rahul Gandhi also tweet about this step taken by CM madhya Pradesh.

Senior Congress leader Kamal Nath, who steered his party to victory in Madhya Pradesh, was on Monday, December 17, was sworn in as its 18th Chief Minister, bringing to an end 15 years of BJP rule in the state which had become the BJPs stronghold.
