The Congress-JDS alliance and the Anglo-Indian local community association moved the Supreme Courtroom on Thursday, challenging B S Yeddyurappa’s final decision to propose Vinisha Nero as MLA from the local community.

Joint petitioners, Karnataka Congress president G Parameshwar and JDS chief H D Kumaraswamy, moved an application challenging the final decision saying there was a very clear bar under Structure and law. Justice A K Sikri will hear it on Friday with the most important petition.

All-India Anglo Indian Affiliation vice-president Clive Michael Van Buerle submitted a writ petition on equivalent grounds. “Our nominated member ought to not be misused in a quantity game,” explained Barry O’Brien, president-in-chief of the association. “We have made the decision to challenge any appointments of Anglo-Indians in advance of a belief vote,” explained O’Brien.
