NEW DELHI: Opposition parties slammed the govt on Wednesday for notebandi, with Congress veteran P Chidambaram condemning the RBI report that stated 99% of the junked currency experienced been deposited again by the citizens.

“Rs 16,000 crore out of demonetised notes of Rs 15,44,000 crore did not come again to RBI. That is 1%. Shame on RBI which ‘recommended’ demonetisation,” Chidambaram tweeted. SP’s Naresh Agarwal threatened to move a privilege movement against RBI governor Urjit Patel for “misleading” a Property panel on the issue. Congress spokesman Anand Sharma stated none of the goals of demonetisation experienced been satisfied. “It was an ill-believed selection which made economical anarchy in the country.
