J&K: Two Army personnel martyred in terror attack in Shopian | India News

NEW DELHI: Two Army staff, which include a main, have been martyred and one other soldier hurt in the course of an encounter with terrorists in south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Thursday morning, Law enforcement said.

According to law enforcement, the a few Armymen hurt in the gunfight have been airlifted to 92 military base hospital in Srinagar where the main and a soldier succumbed to bullet injuries. Meanwhile, the ailment of 3rd hurt soldier is also said to be “crucial”.

“Pursuing a suggestion off about the existence of terrorists in Matribugh Zoipora village of the district (Shopian), a cordon-and-look for operation was released by a joint party of 62 RR of Army, Unique Functions Group of Jammu and Kashmir law enforcement and Central Reserve Law enforcement Power,” a senior law enforcement official said.

The hiding terrorists opened fireplace just after safety forces approached the internet site, the law enforcement official added.

Before on Thursday, two terrorists have been killed in an encounter with safety forces in Kulgam district of south Kashmir, law enforcement said.

According to the law enforcement, one of the slain terrorists was included in an attack on a lender income van in the district on May 1 this 12 months in which five policemen and two lender guards have been killed.

Security forces have also recovered two weapons from the internet site of the encounter, the official said.
