NEW DELHI: At Rahul Gandhi‘s swearing-in as Congress president, Sonia Gandhi had to end her speech several moments, right after energized occasion employees at the venue started bursting firecrackers.

The constant sounds forced Sonia to end speaking, even as occasion leaders requested employees to desist from their celebrations for some time.

An exasperated Sonia even exclaimed, “I won’t be able to talk.”

In her address, Sonia congratulated Rahul on his new posture, even as she recalled her own elevation to occasion main.

Sonia also stressed that Rahul’s childhood and political job had “made him a much better individual.”

“Indira Gandhi treated me like her own daughter and I learnt a lot about India from her,” she reported.
