“The monthly bill should have been passed extensive ago. Muslim women have been having difficulties for their constitutional legal rights for decades,” he informed reporters outdoors parliament. He explained the Congress, which was in power for most of the earlier decades, could not go the monthly bill for “several motives”.
Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad launched the monthly bill in the Lok Sabha amid opposition by members of numerous get-togethers, like RJD, AIMIM, BJD and All India Muslim League. It was passed later.
Outdoors parliament, Mr Prasad explained: “It is a historic working day. The monthly bill has been launched in the Lok Sabha to deal with sufferings of women thanks to ‘triple talaq’. It will be talked about in the Residence and regardless of what I have to say about it, I will say in the Residence.”
