CBI Raids Chidambaram’s Home || Chennai || ThePoliticalIndia:¬†This morning CBI Raided more than a dozen places, including P Chidambaram, Finance Minister, and his son Karti Chidambaram’s house.

“When P Chidambaram was the minister, Karti Chidambaram facilitated the approvals,” Country’s top investigating agency alleges that.

Congress Party and Mr. P Chidambaram denied the allegation.

Karti Chidambaram accused in foreign investment approvals granted in 2008. They exited INX Media in 2009.

“Chidambaram’s company received Rs 10 lakh as kickbacks from INX Media, Which got FIPB for investment worth 4crores and received Rs 305 crores.” CBI sources said.

Some clues on the INX Media emerged from investigations into the Sheen Bora case. The FIR does not name Chidambaram but refers to his role.

“Foreign Investment Promotion Board approval is granted in Hundreds fo case. There is no allegation against me. There is no allegation against any of secretaries who constitute the Foreign Investment Promotion Board.” In a statement Chidambaram said.

“The government and CBI is targeting my son. The government’s aim is to silence my voice. All I will say is I shall continue to speak and write,” Mr. Chidambaram said.

Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala said, “Such Tactics do not scare the Congress and Chidambaram.”

“Mr. Chidambaram is accountable for his son’s actions,” Piyush Goyal BJP leader said. He also said, “The main question is why beneficiaries of Foreign Investment Promotion Board approval gave money to Karti.”
