India’s surgical strikes in Pakistan trended larger in absolute numbers on twitter than the Hillary Clinton-Donald Trump debate held a day earlier, with most tweets emerging from United States of America, Europe and west Asia, besides India, according to a BJP analysis.
The hashtag used by BJP President Amit Shah and ministers on September 29 to congratulate the military for the surgical strikes in Pakistan, #ModiPunishesPak, outperformed other India trends of the past and even some world trends.
That include #debatenight and #Trump for 1st presidential debate between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump on Sept twenty eight (IST) and the launch of the schedule of the new album of the South Korean brand GOT7 on Sept sixteen.
As per BJP’s analysis, nearly 2.56 hundred thousand tweets used the #ModiPunishes-Pak hashtag on September 29, once DGMO Lt gen Ranbir Singh declared the surgical strikes.
The same are said to own created nearly seventy nine.4 crore ‘impressions’ world-wide, the number of times the tweets with the hashtag were seen.
At its peak, nearly 250 tweets with the hashtag were done per second, on top of any trends in the past. aside from Shah, M Venkaiah Naidu, Kiren Rijiju, Kalraj Mishra and several other otherministers usedthe# ModiPunishes-Pak hashtag to tweet on the strike.
Maximum tweets with the hashtag outside India were generated from United States of America, Europe and west Asia. “This shows that the problem reverberated not just in India however across the globe.
PM Modi had given assurance in an earlier tweet on the day of the Uri attack that those behind it’ll not go unpunished ,” a senior party leader said.
